Every now and again you hear a record that sits beautifully between two worlds. Pretty Girl’s latest serve shape shifts between moody club runner and headphone escape route. A versatile cut that’ll give its listeners the opportunity to dance in the dark or stretch out on the couch and smile.

After brewing up soft pop on Audacity and Garageband as a schoolkid, PG soon found herself architecturing punchier tunes on Ableton Live and an array of analog gear. Thanks to a melting pot of talent in her hometown of Naarm (Melbourne), Pretty Girl’s been able to bottle a unique and joyous sound.

Welcome to ‘Sun Phase’. A track that feels like hurtling along on a comet through space. Built of high altitude effects that’d make Shanti Celeste proud, big room synth chords and a gorgeous kick, this latest effort is straight euphoria. A hurtling home run. Over a delectable sound bed, PG offers up her vocal gift too, chopping up syllables with precision. Accompanying the release, comes two frenetically charged remixes from Sydney lord Human Movement and fellow Melburnian DJ Life.

In recent times, Pretty Girl has polished off notable support sets alongside Willaris K, Skin On Skin and DJ Boring, so you know she’s moving in the right areas.

Be sure to check out a class hour she put together for Triple J’s Mix Up series along with her ‘Rely (Vodka Lime and Sad Mix)’, which has become a club head favourite on tastemaker YouTube channel EELF.
